TSEHAY DRISCOLL IN RWANDA AND ETHIOPIA
By Sahil Shah
Local La Canada Flintridge Serve President Tsehay Driscoll joined our team in February 2021 and has been a phenomenal contributor ever since. Tsehay was eager to be a part of Second Serve because wanted to join Second Serve because she was in Rwanda playing some tennis and she saw firsthand how privileged she was playing tennis in America with her newly painted courts and net that didn’t have holes. “In Rwanda, the kids were playing with shoes 2 sizes too big and rackets that were 10 years old. Seeing all that made me want to give back and put smiles on kid’s faces.”
Tsehay has done a lot of hard work to establish a partnership with Ethiopia and Rwanda Reservations so that Second Serve can support the underprivileged kids there who have a passion for tennis. Tsehay has collected a total of 75 rackets and plans to keep collecting more. Tsehay said “I love the people that I’m working with and also seeing the smiles on the faces were helping, it’s truly amazing and it will be a memorable experience in my life”.
