Second Serve has partnered with the Escondido Rotary, the City of Escondido, and Compact to create SERVE Escondido: an after-school tennis program for the children of one of the most low-income communities in San Diego.
We created SERVE Escondido because the after-school hours are pivotal for children's development within Escondido. The mission of the program is to help guide these children out of crime, violence, gangs, and more by giving them a safe place to have fun in after-school hours.
This program will benefit predominately LatinX youth, as well as other minorities. We hope to promote equal access and inclusion within tennis. With the help of the city, the community will be enjoying tennis at Washington Park.
